Usagi Tsukino, a lively 14-year-old, attends Juuban Municipal Junior High School but neglects her studies in favor of food and video games, resulting in poor grades. She is easily upset by insults and reprimands. Despite her reputation as a bad influence and crybaby, everything changes after she encounters Luna, a black cat.
Luna gives Usagi a special brooch that allows her to transform into Sailor Moon, a guardian of justice whose mission is to protect Earth from evil, find a missing princess, and locate the Legendary Silver Crystal. Although hesitant at first, Usagi undergoes a stunning transformation and works with Tuxedo Mask, new allies, and takes on more responsibility, as she battles her way through this iconic magical girl tale.
